Once in a while, news make me angry. This week, I got angry twice. First:

Dunkin’ Donuts has pulled an online advertisement featuring Rachael Ray after complaints that a fringed black-and-white scarf that the celebrity chef wore in the ad offers symbolic support for Muslim extremism and terrorism.

Just to protest, I might buy a kaffiyeh. But as they now mostly made in China, what remains of that symbol anyway ? Which make the whole Dunkin’ story even more moronic… Too bad there is no Nobel prize for stupidiy, because Michelle Malkin would be a wonderful contender.

And also that story:
High levels of bisphenol A prompted many consumers to toss water and baby bottles containing the controversial material. Now, tests conducted for The Globe and Mail and CTV have found high levels of the estrogen-mimicking chemical in canned food sold in Canada.

Is there anything I can do anymore and not get cancer???

3. The fact that you do not know any actual terrorists should not in any way deter you. Necessity is the mother of invention: if you can find the right raw material — a sad, sick, lonely, drunk, deranged, disgruntled or just plain anti-American Muslim somewhere in the United States — you can make your very own terrorist.

This is the tastiest sarcastic editorial I read in months, at least…

An exotic beetle that destroys ash trees could spread from the Great Lakes states across the east-central United States within the next two decades, federal agriculture officials said Tuesday.

Authorities didn’t mention if the beetle was bigger than Jesus.

Firefighters, the clergy and others with professional jobs that involve helping or serving people are more satisfied with their work and overall are happier than those in other professions, according to results from a national survey.

So the best thing would be working as a priest for the fire department.

What should the White house and Congress do about firearms ? I think they should severely restrict semi-automatic and automatic weapons. But what about the others ? Could they severely restrict any firearm ? Should a father who wants to protect his family be able to get a gun ? Does it worth the risk he uses it to kill his wife before she divorces and leaves with the kids ? This issue makes me glad I’m not a politician.

What kind of link can we make between the 33 casualties at Virginia Tech and the 60 000+ casualties in Irak since 2003 ?

33 persons were killed Monday in Virginia.

Over 16,000 persons are killed yearly in the US. About 44 tragedies daily. About 2/3 involve a firearm. Knives come second with about 1/10.

With a better firearm control in the US, about 30 tragedies could be avoided daily.

What’s a tragedy ? What happened or what we could have done ?

Clinton 2008

This picture killed her campaign to become the Presidential nominee of the Democratic Party for the 2008 election. But she will probably try anyway.

I learned that Johnny Cash’s longtime lakeside home was destroyed by fire earlier today.

I fell in to a burning ring of fire

I went down, down, down

and the flames went higher.

And it burns, burns, burns

the ring of fire

the ring of fire.

Sorry about that, Johnny, wherever you are…

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A scofflaw who came to be known as the gin and tonic bandit went to the same restaurant each Wednesday, ordered two drinks and a rib-eye steak, then skipped out on his $25.96 bill.

His dining, drinking and dashing days may be over.

Police arrested the man on preliminary charges of theft and resisting law enforcement. He was being held early Friday at the Monroe County Jail on $2,000 bond, authorities said.

Each Wednesday night for four weeks running, the same man came into the same O’Charley’s restaurant and ordered the two drinks and the steak, restaurant manager Teresa Tolbert told police.

At the end of each meal, the wait staff would present him with his bill for $25.96, and he would excuse himself to use the restroom, then skip out without paying.

The man appeared a fifth time Wednesday night, but the restaurant was ready for him, police said.

Ok. So, it means I can eat for free in a restaurant FOUR TIMES without trouble ? Who are these morons who served him the second, third and fourth time he got there without asking first for what he stole or calling the police ?????

A 20-year-old man received probation after he was convicted of having sexual contact with a dead deer. The sentence also requires Bryan James Hathaway to be evaluated as a sex offender and treated at the Institute for Psychological and Sexual Health in Duluth, Minn.

Why don’t we leave this to the deers’s justice system ?

I wondered for years about which generation I was from. X ? Y ? According to Wikipedia, the edge is around 1977-1978. I’m almost in the edge. Even if technically, I should be in the generation Y, I feel like I fit a little more into the X.

And what’s up with this Gen Y ?

All the effort to boost children’s self-esteem may have backfired and produced a generation of college students who are more narcissistic than their Gen X predecessors, according to a new study led by a San Diego State University psychologist.

Narcissism is possibly something everyone of the uprising generation has to experience.

Like chocolate. Like junk food. Like sex. Like cars. Like buying, buying, and buying again…

Is this uprising generation the one that will stand and say we have been too far ?

Or should we wait some more ?

How could we let a world exist where about the third of the population of USA is obese while 18,000 children die every day because of hunger and malnutrition ? Where in 2005 approximately 1.6 billion adults around the world (age 15+) were overweight while 850 million people go to bed every night with empty stomachs ? How ???

Why don’t we tax junk food – or ALL food – to fight hunger around the world ?

Antioxidant vitamins taken by tens of millions of people around the world won’t lead to a longer life, according to an analysis of dozens of studies that adds to evidence questioning the value of the popular supplements. The large review of separate studies on thousands of people found no long-life benefit from vitamins A, E and C and beta carotene and selenium.

Soooooooooooooo………….. I can eat all the burgers and fries I want ?
